Commit ~ to pledge or bind to a certain course or policy ~ pledge or set aside for future use
When I read the definition, my first thought was that I was going to be making a huge mistake by committing, everyday to run, at least 1 mile. My 2nd thought took off in the direction of crime. Crime ? Yes, crime. You see because it would be a crime against myself not to commit to running at least 1 mile everyday. Immoral ? Well, the only immoral act would be to go running with my old running partner, and we shall leave it at that.
Then came, what was meant for me. The 2nd definition. To pledge or bind to a certain course or policy ~ pledge or set aside for future use. That is what I need to be doing. I am committed to doing this so that I have something ( a healthy body ) for future use.
So that is why I am committed ( I'm still not sure I shouldn't be ). Committed to bettering myself. My health. My body. So that I can have it for the future. So that it will still work for me. So that I can enjoy my twilight years.
The day is now over ~ I still haven't run ~ There is always tomorrow.........
