Blizzard conditions ~ School open !!!!!

You know when you squeeze a bottle of baby powder and a little puff shoots out the top?
Or how about the commercial with Lebron James and his chalk? You know, he scoops up some chalk (it helps him grip the ball better) and he throws it up in the air and a little cloud appears. That’s how much snow we had yesterday and they closed school.
I wake up this morning to rain. Nothing new, I live in the Pacific NW. I wake the boy and tell him to get ready for school. 30 minutes later this is what happens :

H: Mom, exactly why am I going to school?
C: Because school is not cancelled. It is only raining.
H: Really? Are you sure about that? Why don’t you come take a look out your window.
C: Fine. I put the mascara down and walk to the window **holy cow, there is like 2 ½ inches of snow!!!!!! **
H: Can we check to see if school is cancelled?
C: You bet buddy ~ We check ~ It’s not ~ You’re going to school
H: What the bullskovich?!?!? **his made up non-cussing word**

I finish getting both of us ready. Lunches made. He fed the dogs. Made sure they have water. We leave. We have about another inch on the ground. The flakes are huge, fat and falling heavy. We get out of the driveway and I do the normal, give the car some gas and slam on the brakes to check how slick it is. The car fishtails a little, nothing big. H immediately says “MOM, WE NEED TO GO HOME NOW, THIS ISN’T SAFE !!”

“ Are you kidding me kid?!?! For crying in the night, your totally fine !!!!!! “
I drop him off. The snow is falling fast and heavy. I head to work. Snow is falling faster now. They say hindsight is 20/20, right? Well I should have put the chains in my trunk last night when I first had the thought. That way when I got to work guys in the Service Department could put them on for me.
